The crash took place around 5 a.m., Sunday, April 28, on Route 55 in the area of Spy Hill in the Town of Poughkeepsie, said the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Capt. Kevin Faber.

An investigation found that a 2013 Hyundai Elantra was traveling west on Route 55 when it veered off the roadway, struck two trees and then rolled over, said Faber.

The two occupants, a 27-year-old Poughkeepsie man and a 25-year-old Wingdale woman, sustained non-life threatening injuries in the crash, he added.

Both were transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The westbound lanes of Route 55 were closed during the investigation that lasted up to five hours. All lanes reopened around noon.

The Town of Poughkeepsie Police was assisted by the Arlington Fire District, Mobile Life Ambulance, and the New York State Department of Transportation.

The investigation is ongoing. Police are asking anyone who witnessed the crash to contact the department at 845-485-3680.
